Brazil’s First Lady Swears at Elon Musk During G20 Event Over Social Media Regulation
Rio de Janeiro, Nov 16 – Brazil’s First Lady, Janja Lula da Silva, made a bold statement at a G20 social event on Saturday, swearing at billionaire Elon Musk during a discussion about regulating social media. As she addressed the need to combat misinformation online, a ship’s horn blared in the background, prompting her to joke, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding with a smirk, “I’m not afraid of him.”
The playful jab came amid her serious call for stronger regulation of social media platforms to curb the spread of fake news. Musk, who has been at the center of global debates on social media freedom and control since acquiring Twitter (now X), was notably absent from the event, but his presence loomed large in the conversation.
