PCB Announces Central Contracts for 25 Men’s Cricketers for 2024-25 Season
Lahore, Pakistan — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced central contracts for 25 men’s cricketers for the 2024-25 international season. In a statement released by the PCB, it was revealed that former captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan have successfully retained their positions in Category A, while Shaheen Afridi has seen a drop in his ranking.
Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Test team captain Shan Masood have been placed in Category B. In Category C, players including Abdullah Shafique, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, Nauman Ali, Haris Rauf, and Saeem Ayub have been included.
Category D consists of Aamer Jamal, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Mohammad Harirah, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shehzad, Mohammad Ali, Usman Khan, Irfan Khan Niazi, Hasibullah, Abas Afridi, and Kamran Ghulam.
The PCB is reportedly preparing for a major overhaul of its contracts, reflecting the evolving dynamics of the cricketing landscape in Pakistan.
