AI Robot’s Painting Sells for Over $1 Million

November 8, 2024 — A painting created by an AI robot named A.I-Da has sold for more than $1 million at an auction. The robot, named after the famous British mathematician Ada Lovelace, is the first AI to have its artwork auctioned at Sotheby’s.

The painting, a portrait of Alan Turing (the founder of modern computing and AI), was expected to sell for between $120,000 and $180,000. However, bidding quickly shot up, and the final price was $1,084,800.

A.I-Da explained that the portrait was a tribute to Turing’s groundbreaking work in computing and artificial intelligence. The sale marks an important moment in the world of art and technology.
