Aaqib Javed Appointed New Head Coach of Pakistan Cricket Team
Lahore, Nov 16 – Aaqib Javed has been appointed as the new head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, just ahead of their 3-match ODI and 3-match T20 series against Zimbabwe.
Javed, a former cricketer and former bowling coach for Pakistan, was chosen for his experience with the Lahore Qalandars’ development squad and his previous work with the national team. His leadership and deep knowledge of the game made him the ideal candidate to take on the role.
This change follows the resignation of Gary Kirsten, who stepped down as head coach before the Australia tour due to disagreements with the PCB, particularly with selection committee member Aaqib Javed. Jason Gillespie, the red-ball coach, has taken on additional responsibilities to manage the white-ball team.
In another shift, former Test cricketer Mohammad Yousuf also left his role at the National Cricket Academy.
With the Zimbabwe series approaching, all eyes will be on Aaqib Javed to lead the team to success and bring a new direction to Pakistan cricket.
