Nationwide Crackdown: Over 86,000 Arrested in Anti-Electricity Theft Campaign

Islamabad – In a nationwide anti-electricity theft campaign, more than 86,000 individuals involved in electricity theft have been arrested across the country. The crackdown, which has been ongoing since September 2023, has led to the recovery of a staggering sum of 122 billion, 3 crore, and 57 lakh rupees.

Authorities have targeted major cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta. In October alone, over 224 electricity thieves were apprehended, with more than 1 billion, 35 crore, and 3 lakh rupees recovered during this period.

The concerned institutions are committed to continuing their strict operations until electricity theft is completely eradicated nationwide.
