Senate Approves Landmark Bill to Safeguard Overseas Pakistanis’ Properties

Islamabad, October 17 – In a landmark decision, the Senate of Pakistan unanimously passed a special bill aimed at safeguarding the properties of Overseas Pakistanis. The bill, titled “Overseas Pakistanis Property Protection Bill 2024”, was presented by Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain during today’s session.

The key feature of the bill is the establishment of special courts dedicated to handling disputes and issues related to the properties of Overseas Pakistanis. These courts will expedite legal processes and ensure swift justice for those residing abroad who face challenges in protecting their assets back home.

Members from both the government and the opposition, including Senator Ali Zafar, expressed strong support for the bill during the Senate session. They emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns of Overseas Pakistanis, many of whom play a crucial role in contributing to the nation’s economy through remittances.
