Meta to End WhatsApp Support for Older Android Phones

Meta has announced its decision to discontinue WhatsApp support for older Android devices starting January 1, 2025. If you’re using a 10-year-old Android phone, it might be time to upgrade as WhatsApp will no longer function on such devices.

Key Details:

  • WhatsApp will cease to work on phones running Android KitKat or earlier versions from January 2025.
  • The decision comes as WhatsApp introduces new features that are compatible with the latest iOS and Android operating systems, making older systems obsolete.

  • Galaxy Note 2
  • Galaxy S3 Mini

Precaution for Users:

  • If you own an old smartphone, it’s advisable to transfer your WhatsApp data to a new device before January 1, 2025.
