Russia Launches Drone Attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s Military Defends Capital

Kyiv, Nov 24, 2024 – Ukraine’s military reported that its air defense units successfully intercepted and destroyed more than 10 Russian drones that targeted Kyiv during an overnight attack.

According to Kyiv’s military administration, the drones, launched by Russia, were flying in multiple directions towards the capital. Despite the severity of the assault, there have been no immediate reports of any damage or casualties. The air raid alert was active in Kyiv for over three hours, signaling the ongoing threats from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Serhiy Popko, the head of Kyiv’s military administration, confirmed that the city’s defense forces managed to prevent significant damage, but additional details on the scale of the attack are expected to be released later on Sunday.

The attack on Kyiv comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with Russia continuing its military offensive against Ukraine. Ukrainian officials remain on high alert, bolstering defenses as such drone strikes increasingly target key infrastructure and urban centers.
