Israeli Strikes Kill 120 in Gaza, Damage Hospital, Palestinian Medics Say
CAIRO, Nov 23 — Israeli military strikes across Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 120 Palestinians over the past 48 hours, according to Palestinian health officials. The strikes also damaged a hospital in the northern part of the enclave, wounding medical staff and destroying vital equipment, medics reported on Saturday.
Among the casualties were seven members of a single family, who were killed when their home in the Zeitoun suburb of Gaza City was hit by an overnight airstrike. The remaining fatalities were spread across central and southern Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes continued over the past two days.
The Israeli military has denied responsibility for the attack on the Kamal Adwan Hospital, located in northern Gaza, stating that they are “not aware” of the strike. However, Palestinian officials have confirmed the significant damage to the hospital, which has been a key medical facility in the region.
Meanwhile, ceasefire negotiations have stalled after Qatar, which had been mediating between the warring parties, suspended its efforts. The ongoing violence in Gaza has led to growing concerns over the humanitarian crisis in the region, with calls for international intervention and a halt to the hostilities.
The latest escalation comes as the conflict, which began earlier this year, continues to claim civilian lives and damage infrastructure in Gaza.
