Hyundai Recalls Over 145,000 Electrified Vehicles in U.S. Over Drive Power Issue
November 22, 2024 – Hyundai Motor has announced a recall of 145,235 electrified vehicles in the United States due to a potential issue that could result in a loss of drive power. The recall, which affects specific 2022-2025 models, includes IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 electric vehicles, as well as certain Genesis GV60, GV70, and G80 electrified variants.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that the problem stems from integrated charging control units, which may fail and stop charging the 12-volt battery. This could cause the vehicle to lose drive power, posing a safety risk.
Hyundai is working with the NHTSA to resolve the issue, and affected vehicle owners will be notified about the necessary repairs.
