Russia’s Hypersonic Missile Strike on Ukraine Sends Stern Warning to the West

Moscow, Nov 22 – Russia has claimed that its recent hypersonic missile strike on Ukraine was a deliberate message to Western nations, warning them against what it called “reckless” support for Kyiv.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Friday that the strike, which involved the newly developed Oreshnik (Hazel Tree) hypersonic ballistic missile, demonstrates Moscow’s readiness to respond decisively to perceived provocations.

The missile was reportedly fired at a Ukrainian military facility, marking a significant escalation in Russia’s use of advanced weaponry in the ongoing conflict. President Vladimir Putin, who announced the strike, described the Oreshnik as part of a new generation of weapons designed to maintain Russia’s strategic superiority.

This development comes amid increasing tensions between Russia and the West, with Western countries ramping up military and economic aid to Ukraine. The strike highlights Russia’s intent to counter such support with advanced military capabilities, further straining relations with NATO and EU nations.
