Israeli Airstrike on Syria’s Palmyra Kills 36 People, Syrian State Media Reports
Dubai – An Israeli airstrike on the Syrian city of Palmyra has resulted in the deaths of 36 people and left more than 50 others injured, according to Syrian state media. The attack targeted residential buildings and an industrial zone in the city, which is located in Syria’s desert region.
The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the strike occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with the attack originating from the al-Tanf area, a region in southern Syria. The military source cited by SANA referred to the casualties as “martyrs” and confirmed the extensive damage caused by the airstrike.
The Israeli military has not commented on the incident at this time.
The attack has raised tensions, as Palmyra is known for its historic and cultural significance, with its ancient ruins being a UNESCO World Heritage site. The situation is continuing to develop, and further details are expected.
