Russia Targets Ukraine’s Power Grid in ‘Massive’ Missile Strike

Kyiv, Ukraine, Nov 17 – Russia has launched a large missile attack on Ukraine’s power grid, causing widespread power outages across several regions, Ukrainian officials said on Friday. The missiles hit key energy facilities, leaving parts of the country without electricity, including in the capital, Kyiv.

Emergency teams are working to repair the damage, but blackouts have been reported in many areas. This strike is part of a pattern where Russia has been targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including power plants and heating systems, since the war began. These attacks are meant to disrupt daily life and weaken Ukraine’s economy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the missile strike a “deliberate act of terror” aimed at civilians. Despite the damage, he promised to continue restoring the power grid and ensuring basic services.

The attack highlights the ongoing hardship faced by Ukrainian civilians, especially as winter sets in. Many are struggling without heat and electricity as the war drags on with no end in sight.
