Greece in Talks with Israel to Develop €2 Billion Anti-Aircraft Defense System
Athens, Nov 14 – Greece is negotiating with Israel to develop a €2 billion ($2.11 billion) anti-aircraft and missile defense system, aiming to bolster its military capabilities as the country continues its recovery from a long-running debt crisis.
The new defense system would likely be modeled after Israel’s Iron Dome, a renowned technology designed to intercept short- and long-range missiles. It would help protect Greece from potential missile strikes, especially in light of tensions in neighboring regions like Gaza and Lebanon. The system is part of Greece’s broader efforts to modernize its armed forces. (By Reuters)
