Brazil Police Identify Suicide Bomber Outside Supreme Court Ahead of G20 Summit

BRASILIA, Nov 14 – Brazilian police have identified the man who carried out a deadly suicide bombing outside the country’s Supreme Court on Wednesday night. The individual has been named as a former city council candidate associated with ex-President Jair Bolsonaro’s right-wing party. Authorities revealed that the bomber had a history of intense political rhetoric online.

The explosions, which took place outside the Supreme Court and in a nearby parking lot, have been classified as “attacks” by federal police. The incident has raised significant security concerns just days ahead of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the scheduled visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Brazil’s capital, Brasilia.

Authorities are investigating whether the attacks were politically motivated, especially in light of the bomber’s alleged ties to Bolsonaro’s political faction. The timing of the attack, coming just before major international events, has heightened tensions surrounding Brazil’s national security.
