Explosion at Louisville Factory Kills Two Employees

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An explosion at a factory in Louisville, Kentucky, has killed two employees and caused significant damage, including a partial collapse of the building and shattered windows in nearby homes and businesses.

The explosion occurred Tuesday afternoon at Givaudan Sense Colour, a plant that produces colorings for food and beverages. The company expressed deep sorrow in a statement, saying, “We are grieving with the families, friends, and loved ones of those that were lost and injured.”

Emergency responders evacuated workers from the facility, rescuing many, including some with life-threatening injuries. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed that all employees at the plant were accounted for.

At least 11 people were taken to local hospitals for treatment following the blast.
