Yemen’s Houthis Launch Attacks on U.S. Naval Vessels in Red and Arabian Seas
November 12, 2024 – Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for two separate military attacks on U.S. naval vessels in the Red and Arabian seas on Tuesday. According to Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea, the operations lasted for eight hours.
The first attack targeted a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea using missiles and drones, while the second operation struck two U.S. destroyers in the Red Sea with similar weaponry.
The details of the attacks remain unclear, and it is not yet known whether the U.S. vessels sustained any damage or casualties. The U.S. military has yet to comment on the claims.
The Houthis’ military operations are part of their ongoing conflict with the Saudi-led coalition, which has been involved in Yemen’s civil war for several years. The group has previously launched attacks against various targets in the region, but this marks a significant escalation in their actions against U.S. military assets.
Further developments are expected as the situation unfolds.
Stay tuned for more updates.
