JEDDAH, Nov 12 — A special event in Makkah has brought the rich history of long-distance desert travel to life, celebrating a key part of Arabian culture. The Al-Qafila (Arabic for “convoy”) event, held at the Hira Cultural District, showcased Saudi Arabia’s historical traditions and folk heritage through live performances and interactive displays.

The event focused on the use of convoys for trade and transportation across the desert, a practice that was vital for the survival of communities in the harsh climate.
