PARIS, Nov 12 — Major French newspapers, including Le Monde, Le Figaro, and Le Parisien, have announced plans to take legal action against social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) for allegedly using their content without compensation.
The newspapers argue that they are entitled to ancillary rights payments, which require digital platforms to pay news outlets for distributing their content. The legal move comes as these publications seek fair compensation for their work being shared online.
Representatives for X have yet to respond to requests for comment.
