India Yet to Approve NOC for Blind T20 World Cup in Pakistan
Lahore, Nov 12 — The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has not yet issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Indian Blind Cricket Team to travel to Pakistan for the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which will be held from November 23 to December 3 in Lahore and Multan.
While the Indian Ministry of Sports has already given approval, the Ministry of External Affairs has not allowed the team to travel. The Indian Blind Cricket Team applied for the NOC a month ago, but the delay continues. This follows a pattern seen in previous years, including during the 2022 Blind T20 World Cup, when India did not grant visas to the Pakistani team.
Abdul Razzaq, Director of Information at the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), said they are in constant contact with the Indian Blind Cricket Association and are still waiting for the NOC. If the Indian team cannot come, Pakistan may have to give points to other teams for India’s matches.
The PBCC hopes to have the Indian team participate but will wait until the last day for their arrival.
