Bhakkar, Punjab – November 11, 2024 – A unique 35-foot-long currency garland has captured attention in Bhakkar, Punjab, becoming the talk of the town. Traditionally used in weddings, these garlands, made from currency notes, are a special way to congratulate the groom in the Indian subcontinent, especially in rural areas.

While flower garlands are common for various celebrations, currency garlands, or ‘Jugni,’ are typically reserved for weddings. This tradition, though less common in urban areas, still thrives in rural communities.

The garland in Bhakkar has garnered significant attention for its size and craftsmanship. Created by a local vendor, it is said to be the largest currency garland ever made in the region. Measuring 35 feet in length and 10 feet in width, the garland features 200 Rs 75 notes and 1,700 Rs 50 notes, artfully arranged to form a stunning design.

This extravagant garland, which adds a unique touch to the wedding celebrations, is being hailed as a symbol of prosperity and good fortune for the groom.
