Buttler’s 83 Guides England to Seven-Wicket Win Over West Indies

Kingston, November 10, 2024 — Jos Buttler hit a brilliant 83 off 45 balls to lead England to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over the West Indies in the second T20I. The win gives England a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Buttler, batting at No. 3, hit eight fours and six sixes, sharing a key partnership of 129 runs with Will Jacks, who made 47. England chased down West Indies’ total of 158/8 with more than five overs to spare.

Earlier, England bowled well after winning the toss, with Saqib Mahmood taking two early wickets. Rovman Powell top-scored for West Indies with 43 runs, but the rest of the batting collapsed. England’s bowlers, including Dan Mousley and Liam Livingstone, shared four wickets.

England lost Phil Salt to the first ball of their chase, but Buttler and Jacks dominated the game with a strong partnership. Both were dismissed in quick succession, but England comfortably reached the target, leaving West Indies with little chance of a comeback.
