Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule Delayed, Event Cancelled by ICC
The schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy has been delayed, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has cancelled the planned announcement set for November 11.
According to reports, the delay is due to ongoing issues regarding India’s participation in the tournament. The ICC had planned to reveal the full schedule in Lahore, but the event was called off because a decision on India’s involvement has not been made.
The ICC has not commented on the situation. Sources from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) say that work is still underway for the event’s launch and branding, and there may be a rescheduling. They also noted that outdoor activities in Lahore are difficult at the moment, which has led to the delay in confirming the schedule.
Earlier, reports revealed that India had refused to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, and the ICC was informed of this decision. PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, said no final decision would be made until a written response was received and rejected the “hybrid model” for hosting the event.
The uncertainty over India’s participation continues to cause challenges for the planning of the tournament.
