ICC Releases New Test Rankings: Babar, Rizwan, and Other Pakistani Players Make Gains
November 6, 2024 – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest Test rankings, showing notable changes for several Pakistani players.
In the Test batting rankings, Pakistan’s Saud Shakil has dropped two places to 9th. Meanwhile, Babar Azam has moved up one spot to 17th, Salman Agha has gained one position to 19th, and Mohammad Rizwan has risen by two places to 20th.
In the top rankings, English batter Joe Root remains in the 1st position, followed by New Zealand’s Kane Williamson at 2nd. England’s Harry Brook has risen by one spot to 3rd. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has dropped to 4th, while Rishabh Pant has made a significant move, climbing five places to 6th. New Zealand’s Darrell Mitchell has also seen a rise of eight positions, landing in 7th.
In the Test bowlers’ rankings, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada continues to hold the top spot, with Pakistan’s Nauman Ali ranked 9th. India’s Ravindra Jadeja has risen by two places to 6th, and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has moved up four spots to 19th.
As for the all-rounder rankings, India’s Ravindra Jadeja holds the top position, followed by his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin at 2nd. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has risen to 3rd, while West Indies’ Jason Holder and England’s Joe Root both gained one place each, now ranked 4th and 5th, respectively.
