Babar Azam’s Bat Joins Cricket Legends in Melbourne’s Iconic MCG Long Room

Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam has earned a prestigious spot among cricketing greats as his bat, used during Pakistan’s 2022 T20 World Cup final against England, is now on display in the historic Long Room at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This distinguished exhibit also features bats donated by cricket legends like Don Bradman, David Boon, Jack Hobbs, and Brian Lara, marking a significant achievement for Azam.

The MCG management invited Azam to donate his bat, acknowledging his contributions to the sport. Reflecting on the honor, Azam expressed his pride, stating, “It is an honor for me, and this means a lot because I played a World Cup final using this bat.” He added that the MCG holds many cherished memories and remains one of his favorite grounds.

Azam recently stepped down as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, with Mohammad Rizwan succeeding him. He was also left out of Pakistan’s Test squad for the upcoming series against England, signaling a transition in his international career.
