PTI Files Contempt Petition in Supreme Court Over Reserved Seats Ruling
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the non-implementation of a previous court ruling regarding reserved seats, as reported by ARY News.
The petition addresses concerns that despite the Supreme Court’s clear directives, authorities have not yet enforced the decision concerning the allocation of reserved seats. PTI argues that the lack of action on this issue disregards the court’s authority and compromises the fair functioning of the parliamentary seat distribution.
Salman Akram Raja emphasized that the delay is not just an administrative oversight but a serious issue that challenges the integrity of judicial decisions. PTI’s move seeks immediate attention from the Supreme Court to enforce its previous ruling and ensure compliance from the responsible institutions. The court is expected to review the petition in the coming days, potentially leading to directives for swift implementation.
