At least 40 schools in Delhi were evacuated on Monday after receiving bomb threat emails demanding a payment of $30,000, according to ANI. The emails, sent Sunday night and Monday morning, claimed that multiple bombs had been planted on school premises.

Authorities called parents to take children home as police searched for suspicious items. No explosives were found.

India has seen a rise in hoax bomb threats this year, with nearly 999 threats targeting airports and airlines. In May, more than 50 schools received similar false alarms.
