NEW AIRLINES SET TO TAKE OFF IN PAKISTAN, BOOSTING AVIATION SECTOR
Islamabad, Pakistan – In a significant development, several new airlines are poised to launch operations in Pakistan, injecting fresh competition into the country’s aviation sector. According to sources, Jet Green, Q Airways, Go Green Air, Air Indus, Q Aviation, and Liberty Air have all approached the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for licenses and permits.
This influx of new airlines is expected to provide passengers with enhanced travel options, increase foreign exchange earnings, and create new job opportunities in the sector. The CAA has welcomed the development, citing its potential to boost the country’s economy.
The new entrants will join existing private airlines Airblue, SereneAir, and AirSial, as well as the state-owned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which recently ranked fourth in the CAA’s six-month performance report. The report highlighted room for improvement in PIA’s operational efficiency, with a departure and arrival ratio of 89.32 percent.
